Saturday Events
60-YEAR REUNION: SATURDAY NIGHT  The Saturday night event was held at Meadowbrook Country Club in Racine, the site of many of our previous reunions.  A delicious dinner of either Filet Mignon or Chicken Maderia was served, along with an O&H Danish Layer Cake.  Entertainment was John Van Thiel, The Voice of Elvis.  He was totally entertaining!  Judy Cloutier Horvath thanked Chair Judy Wilda Amundsen for her years of service chairing the Reunion Committee and presented her with a plaque.  For pictures of Saturday night, go to "All Reunion Pictures" and scroll down to see your classmates enjoying the evening.  To enlarge a picture, simply click on the picture.  Enjoy.

55-Year Reunion:  Classmates Toured the SC Johnson Administration Building and the new Fortaleza Hall:  SC Johnson's Headquarters, visited by thousands each year and compared to a cathedral by its architect Frank Lloyd Wright, is one of the buildings that has defined Racine's Downtown.  The Great Workroom, with its unique columns, innovative use of glass tubing, and specifically designed furniture are among the features in this working environment that has been hailed as a 'center of creativity.'  The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  To view pictures of Saturday events, please scroll down to the ALL REUNION PHOTOS page (below) and click on 55-Year Reunion-Saturday Events.
Fortaleza Hall is a beautiful glass structure that offers a fitting home for Sam Johnson's replica Carnauba plane, which he and his sons flew to Brazil in 1998.  Their trip recreated the 1935 adventure taken by HF Johnson, Jr. when he went to Brazil searching for a sustainable source of wax for Johnson products.  Fortaleza Hall also tells the story of the nearby Frank Lloyd Wright buildings and has historical artifacts about the SC Johnson Company and the Johnson Family.

A WALK DOWN MAIN STREET

Downtown Racine held its Annual PARTY ON THE PAVEMENT on Saturday, beginning at noon.  This street festival featured music, refreshments and special activities.  Classmates had the opportunity to explore all of the shops and museums in our downtown area.   Main Street General Store, owned/operated by classmate David Azarian was a MUST to visit.

Classmates had the opportunity to explore the RACINE ART MUSEUM and stroll along the Sixth Street Artwalk to view artists and exhibits lining Sixth Street.  Artist demonstrations took place in the intersections and all of the Downtown art galleries were open for business.  The RAM houses the nation's largest collection of contemporary crafts.  Its nationally recognized exhibits change regularly, making every visit a new experience.

The MAIN EVENT for Saturday, September 24 was the Dinner/Dance at Meadowbrook Country Club, located at 2149 N.
